Master Thesis: ''Genotypic analysis of hepatitis B and clinical importance'' Genotypic analysis of hepatitis B and clinical importance HBV infection remains a global concern despite vaccines and antivirals. This study analyzed HBV genome mutations to assess drug resistance, immune escape, and progression to liver cirrhosis (LC) or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Genotyping identified subgenotypes and mutations in RT (e.g., rtL180M+rtS202G+rtM204V) conferred resistance. S gene mutations affected vaccine/diagnostic escape, while C and X gene mutations were linked to LC/HCC progression and viral replication.
